Manchester United are closing in on Benfica’s teen talent Renato Sanches.
United have been tracking Sanches for months and his agent Jorge Mendes was spotted in Manchester this week.
Mendes was ostensibly in town for Manchester City’s Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid on Tuesday and it is understood he discussed Sanches’ future.
Benfica are prepared to sell their midfield star this summer to United if they activate his £45million buy-out clause in the five-year deal he recently signed.
They feel Sanches could be the next Portuguese sensation and the 18-year-old, who is a product of their academy, has already won two senior caps since making his debut last month.
