Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available.Have you ever updated your Twitter or Facebook page or created a blog useing Blogger? Have you ever bought a book from Amazon ? Have you ever read News Online or checked something out on Wikipedia or Google? All of these sites work with a type of Content Management System.

Step 1: Installing Joomla
Hopefully You will see a white screen with the WAMP logo in the Top-lift corner.
About Joomla
Joomla is a platform based on PHP and MySQL which was created in 2005 by a team of open source developers. It currently has over 200,000 community users and contributors. Joomla is free to anyone who wants to download it and use it to create a website. It is also open to anyone who wants to create extensions and templates. The most current version of Joomla can be downloaded from
joomla.org/download.htmlStep 1: Installing Joomla
In your Taskbar, down the date in the bottom right hand corner of your screen, look for WAMP icon. Click on that icon.
You should see a popup.Click “Start All Services” and then click “Localhost”.
Hopefully You will see a white screen with the WAMP logo in the Top-lift corner.
STEP 2: Download Joomla
Go to link Get the latest Version. Find the line saying Full Package. And click on the Zip the file you downloaded should have a long name such as joomla 3.1. 3.4 stable- full- Package. Zip
Step 3 Move Joomla to WAMP
-Click on the WAMP icon in your taskbar again and now click "www directory". This will take you to the folder where WAMP stores its websites.
-Move your Joomla folder from Step 2 into this directory.
-Extract the Joomla folder.
-It will be confusing to keep accessing the website through a folder called /
Joomla_ 3.1. 3.4 stable- full- Package / so rename the folder to something simple such as /Myjoomlasite/
Step 4: Set up our database
Click on the WAMP icon in your taskbar again and now click "phpMyAdmin". This will take you to the software where Joomla's databases are managed.
Find the field labelled "Create new database" and enter " Myjoomlasite ". Click"Create".
Hopefully you'll see the name " Myjoomlasite " appear in the left column.
Step 5: Install Joomla
In your browser, visit this address: http://localhost/ Myjoomlasite You'll see the the normal Joomla
installation screen. Click through screen 1, 2 and 3.
On screen 4, these will be your settings:
1. Host Name: Localhost
2. Username: root
3. Password: [leave this blank]
4. Database: Myjoomlasite
On screen 5, enter your site name plus a username, email and password.
Step 6: Delete/rename installation directory
Hopefully you still have your Joomla folder open. If not, click on the WAMP icon in your taskbar again and then on"www directory".Rename the installation folder to something such as /installation-back/
Click "Site" on the final installation
screen or visit http://localhost/ Myjoomlasite .You should now have a shiny new website installation of Joomla on your P.C. where you can develop your website securely in your local environment.
